Diesel Particulate Filter Servicing

Before
After

DPF Express is locally owned and operated. We have the experience, state of the art equipment and tenured team to get your DPF filter and components back to OEM specifications. As the area experts, with over 7 years experience, you can count on us for reliability and customer service that exceeds your expectations. Plus a quick turnaround time of 24-48 hours, often less.

We use state of the art aqueous cleaning that allows us to return your DPF to OEM specifications. The first part of this process is blowing out the unit by hand with an air knife. Then our new Aqueous Flush Machine purges all of the contaminates from the substrate. The filter is then placed in a kiln overnight to dry the substrate, returning it to like-new condition.

Why is keeping a clean DPF important? It’s critical for improved engine performance and fuel efficiency: A clogged DPF can restrict exhaust flow and cause back pressure in the engine. This can lead to decreased engine performance and increased fuel consumption. Cleaning your DPF can restore proper exhaust flow and improve engine performance and fuel efficiency.

The Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) is a flow-through substrate that like any catalyst, creates the heat needed to regen the system. It is important to service the DOC to remove any contaminates that would eventually end up in the DPF filter.

Does the DOC Always Need Cleaning at the Same Time as the DPF? It is recommended, not required, to service the DOC at the same time as the DPF. We recommend that the DOC be removed so it can be inspected and cleaned too. When not serviced simultaneously, the DOC can send soot back into a newly cleaned DPF.

The Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) System can cause unexpected problems. We only recommend servicing SCR units if you have had a doser valve issue, or a cracked or melted DPF that would allow soot particles to mix with the DEF fluid.

Having a stuck or clogged Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve and cooler can shut down any diesel engine. Our cleaning process removes all baked on soot and contaminants from the EGR valve and cooler at a much lower cost than replacing the unit. Once the EGR is cleaned, we pressure test it to make sure there aren’t leaks that would allow coolant into the intake system. This is important because any leaks would cause further DPF related issues.

We are proud to be Colorado’s only RECORE center. With RECORE, we can replace the cracked or melted substrate in most DPFs, DOCs and SCRs. Let us RECORE it for a fraction of what a new OEM or aftermarket filter costs. RECORE also offers the most advanced technology in DOC and CNG catalyst technology. All RECORE substrates are made from high quality stainless steel which allows for better flow, more surface area and quality that is longer lasting.

Same day turnaround.

While we RECORE a lot of over-the-road and light-duty filters, we can also RECORE off-road units.
